Gatecrasher Nottingham are very excited to announce Global Superstar DJ Sasha, returning to his Nottingham spiritual home (Media) on Friday 25th February.
DJ/producer/remixer SASHA is recognized as one of the worlds’ most innovative icons of the electronic genre. He propels listeners into the future of electronic music by constructing innovative and forward-thinking concept albums (Airdrawndagger, Involver) and live events (Delta Heavy, Fundacion) that blur the boundaries between artist and DJ.
Refusing to limit himself to DJ work, Sasha has continually explored his various interests as an adept remixer, songwriter, and producer. He established himself as a formidable, in-demand remixer by reconstructing tracks from an incredible array of artists such as Depeche Mode, Madonna, Seal, UNKLE, The Chemical Brothers, BT, Thom Yorke, and Orbital.

massive!!”
Unusually, we have been told to “take the rest of the day off” and give the stupid quill and idiot inkpot of VVWI copy directly to our evil leader Tim Sheridan, and we quote:
“I have to say a few words here. This man is fucking awesome bordering on the supernatural. I’ve been playing these two for a while now and there is no point writing a load of bollocks to a load of DJs who already love us or hate us. Nobody buys tunes anymore anyway outside of DJs. I run this label exactly for tunes like this and people like Paul Lyman. It’s dead simple: In a set of 2 hours maybe one or two tunes get people rushing up to the decks to ask “What the fuck is this!?” Both of these get that. Every time. Now you can have them too.
“Say what you like about us, we have a track record for helping artists who eventually become very well regarded. Paul Lyman doesn’t need our help at all. He will be massive. I know because of the damage these tracks do from extensive road testing. We are lucky to have them. I’m a bit amazed that such a phenomenal group of producers have come to us over the last few years and they just seem to get better. I did some talks at Universities recently and a kid asked “If the music industry is so bad, why do you persist?”. I said that I just love it… and even now I have to pay for it I will never give in… and I won’t let a shit government or load of bankers stop me. That’s all there is to it. Cheers.”
There you have it then. Nothing more to say than dunk yourself in the nearest village pond and if you drown, you are very wrong. And if you float, you are very wrong indeed.
Witchfinder General! If you please…. Burn the remains just in case.
Confirmed to play alongside Sasha at Gatecrasher Friday 25th Feb 2011.

Unkle’s main man offer Dazed Digital readers a selection of his favourite records, from Carl Craig to Fleetwood Mac
Here, producer and Unkle founder James Lavelle presents “The Dazed and the Confused (vol 1) DJ mix: “When Jefferson asked me to do this I was really excited about working with Dazed again on a music project; our paths had not crossed for a while so this seemed like the perfect thing to do. Djing has always been the fabric of what I’ve done both alone and with Unkle and it’s been the back bone of mine and Pablo’s [Clements, Unkle colleague] relationship for the past 15 years.
James Lavelle Says:
I wanted to put together a mix which, as I hope our records do, takes you on a journey and breaks down sonic barriers. The mix weaves our own records with contemporary sounds, artists and records and those I love from the past, hopefully taking you on a seamless sonic adventure. It contains some new exclusives from Trentmoller’s ambient mix of ‘The Answer’ to our new club banger ‘Sianara’, together with new tracks from our recent ‘Lives of the Artists’ score. So here it is: from Carl Craig to Unkle, Fleetwood Mac to Mark Lanagan from the beautiful to the twisted, from downtempo to the dance floor. I hope you enjoy the ride.”
